The honeymoon between Olivia and Jake is over after she receives an anonymous envelope with a newspaper clipping revealing her friend Harrison is dead. Though Jake attempts to keep Olivia from leaving the island, they hop on plane and fly back to Washington, D.C.

Quinn reveals she was the one who found her and explains what happened after she left the Washington. Olivia sets off to find her other gladiators to help plan Harrison’s funeral. However, Olivia also ends up caught in another fixer scandal after a senators asks for her help.

Huck is now “Randy the Smart Guy” and works at tech store that fixes electronics. Olivia attempts to ask Huck how he’s doing, but he refuses to open up to her unless she’s back for good.

Abby is now press secretary for the White House, but is struggling to be on the “inside” when it comes to the President’s decisions. Abby tells off Olivia for abandoning Harrison, but Olivia counters her argument by reminding her she left him, too.

Olivia meets with her father Rowan Pope to ask him if he had anything to do with Harrison’s death. Rowan tells her no, but “Scandal” fans know otherwise.

Then there’s President Fitz. Fans learned he attempted suicide shortly after Olivia left with Jake and Mellie has since given up on life after the death of her son. Fitz also refuses to see Olivia, but Mellie insists he tell her when he sees her.

Meanwhile, Jake reminds Olivia he’s the one who’s been there for her during the tough times, not Fitz. Needless to say, Jake and Olivia stay in Washington. The show ends with Olivia and Fitz casually walking by each other, giving fans hope of an Olitz reunion.
