Michael Douglas won’t be wearing any tight spandex in Marvel’s upcoming “Ant-Man” movie.

During an interview with MTV News, Douglas claimed his costume will be hung up and co-star Paul Rodd will be donning the superhero suit.  Douglas claimed Rudd looks better in the costume than he would anyway.

“Paul Rudd is ripped,” Douglas told MTV. “He’s been training and working out for this picture for a long time. He was so cut, that they had to soften his costume up, with all the built-in six-packs and all of that.”

Rudd also may have a better grasp of the Marvel Universe than Douglas. The actor admitted he didn’t really understand the script the first time he read it through, but couldn’t explain why without giving away plot details.

“No, I couldn’t relate to it on any level,” Douglas said. “It was…I mean they, it’s a whole different way of working, but Marvel’s obviously got this incredible track record, but they kind of…everything sticks to the wall. They start with a broad canvas, and they can afford to. Then, they kind of hone it down.”

The “Ant-Man” production is in full swing despite director Edgar Wright dropping out of the project at the last minute. Director Peyton Reed has since picked up the project, which Marvel President Kevin Feige was excited about.

Back in July, Feige told IGN Reed was always on Marvel’s radar. However, Reed was adamant he wouldn’t take on a “secondhand” project.

"It was not a slam-dunk that he would just step into it and do it," Feige told IGN. "He wanted to be sure that he was wasn't just inheriting something or following someone else's lead. Or wasn't inheriting something that the evil studio had watered down to be something bad.

"I kept saying, 'You can either read what's online, or come in and talk to us and look at all this stuff.' He looked at everything, he talked with us, and he said 'Number one, I agree with the direction you're going in. And number two, I can add to it.' And he has - the movie is in as good a shape as it's ever been right now."

"Ant-Man" will be released to theaters on July 17, 2015.
