It looks like Ariana Grande has a new beau. The 21-year-old singer has been romantically linked to rapper Big Sean, 26, but neither has ever confirmed the rumors. They were spotted on a movie date at the beginning of August and now a photo surfaced of the two showing a little PDA at the MTV Video Music Awards.

After Grande opened the awards show she headed backstage and was caught on camera holding hands with Big Sean. The two looked cute and cozy next to each other.

It's been a rough couple of months for both Grande and Sean. The rapper called off his engagement to "Glee" star Naya Rivera a few months ago (she ended up marrying actor Ryan Dorsey on the same day she was supposed to wed Big Sean). Grande, on the other hand, had to deal with two losses.

The "Problem" singer announced last month that her grandfather died and shortly after she split from Jai Brooks. The two had only been dating for a few months after rekindling their romance.

"It has not been an easy few months," the source told US Weekly. "Jai just wasn't as supportive as he could have been."

Following the spit, Grande posted a cryptic message on Instagram hinting at her relationship troubles.  

"You learn a lot about love, life and the people around you during a time of crisis," she posted. "July was painful for many reasons but off all the personal loss I suffered last month, the loss of my grandfather, a true gentlemen, was the only one that truly mattered. I thank everybody who was here for me when I needed them as the ones who weren't really broke my heart."

Grande and Big Sean have known each other for a long time. The two collaborated on her first album, "Yours Truly," and the rapper will be featured on her upcoming album, "My Everything."

"They've been really great friends for the past three years," a source previously told Hollywood Life denying the dating rumors. "Her mom is like his mom."
