J.K. Rowling is introducing a character to the “Harry Potter” universe by publishing a new biography on Pottermore.com.

The author shared insight about her new witch exclusively to Today.com. Rowling gushed about her favorite “off-stage” character, the glamorous witch Celestina Warbeck.

“Although we never lay eyes on Celestina during the whole seven volumes of the Potter books, I always imagined her to resemble Shirley Bassey in both looks and style,” Rowling wrote. “I stole her first name from a friend with whom I worked, years ago, at Amnesty International's Headquarters in London; 'Celestina' was simply begging to be scooped up and attached to a glamorous witch.”

According to Rowling’s description, Warbeck belongs to house Gryffindor and wields a wand made larch and phoenix feather. Warbeck also possess the abilities to “drown out a chorus of banshees” and was born to a Wizard father and Muggle mother.

Celestina's extraordinary voice was apparent from an early age,” Rowling wrote in Warbeck’s bio. “Disappointed to learn that there was no such thing as a wizarding stage school, Mrs Warbeck reluctantly consented to her daughter's enrollment at Hogwarts, but subsequently bombarded the school with letters urging the creation of a choir, theatre club and dancing class to showcase her daughter's talents.”

Warbeck is best known for her hit single, “You Charmed the Heart Right Out of Me and A Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love.” Her late 20th-century album "You Stole My Cauldron but You Can't Have My Heart" was also a big hit.

Though she experienced success in her musical career, her personal life was plagued by gossip stories. Warbeck was married three times and has a child from her second marriage. Click here to learn more about Warbeck’s story.
