Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee has retired his infamous 360-degree roller coaster drum kit, according to Billboard.

The drummer announced the kit's retirement Saturday in Atlantic City after his band's Taj Mahal performance. The concert was the last stop on Motley Crue's recent tour. For a proper rock-star send-off, the band smashed a bottle of champagne over the loop of the drumset used in Lee's extravagant show drum solos. Following the concert Lee tweeted: "Bye Bye Rollercoaster of Love!"

He also reminiscned on his drum-kit's ceremonial retirement.

"A bottle of Champagne smashed on the coaster last night as it sets sail for the scrap yard!" Lee Tweeted Saturday night after the show. "Man we've given so many people the thrill of a lifetime together! This ones for the history books kids! We did it!"

Lee unleashed the drum kit in 2011 while on tour with Poison. The kit would spin upside down and loop like a roller coaster as Lee played. The '80s metal drummer was later sued in 2012 by a manufacturer who said Lee stole his design, TMZ reported. But that didn't stop him. He continued to rock the set, even allowing fans rides as he performed during shows, on stage, spinning with Lee on the coaster.

Lee's drum solos are infamous in the rock world. The retiring of the set marks the end of an era for the showman drummer. But he said in later Tweets, that the show is not over and the esteemed drummer has many more tricks up his sleeve. He ended one Tweet with:

"On to design the next spectacular!"
