Microsoft has sent out invites to the media for an IFA 2014 event in Berlin where the software giant is likely to show off Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 smartphones.

Microsoft, the Redmond-based software giant is getting ready to add two new smartphones to its Windows Phone range. Speculations are rife about the launch of Lumia 830 and Lumia 730 on September 4 at the IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany.

The news was originally broken by WP Central on Monday after it received an invite by the software giant for an upcoming IFA 2014 event. In the invite, Microsoft asks, "ready for more?" and teases a camera lens in the alphabet "o" in "more." The handset is reportedly a "selfie" focused smartphone, the Verge cited Microsoft devices boss Stephen Elop as saying in an internal meeting. According to previous reports, the Lumia 730 is expected to boast a 5-megapixel front facing camera.

WP Central also speculated the launch of Lumia 830, internally referred to as Superman, alongside Lumia 730 aka Tesla. Both phones will run Microsoft's latest Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box. The Lumia 830 will be the first smartphone to be branded under "Nokia by Microsoft," which will then be a standard in all future smartphones as Microsoft acquired Nokia's business last year.

Other specifications surrounding the Lumia 730 suggest a 4.7-inch HD display with a 6.5-megapixel rear-facing camera. The handset is expected to be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB built-in storage. Considering these features, the smartphone is likely to hit a mid-level price range.

These speculations are based on rumors spinning around in the tech world. Only Microsoft knows for sure what is behind the curtains at the big show next month.
