The Colorado Rockies play the Chicago Cubs on Thursday in Game 4 of their series.  The game starts at 2:20 p.m. ET.  Listen to the live radio broadcast below.

Colorado can split the four-game series against Chicago with a win on Thursday.   The Rockies bounced back from two straight losses with a 6-4 victory Wednesday.  Despite Cubs third baseman Luis Valbuena forcing extra innings with a two-run homer in the eighth, the Rockies broke the tie with an RBI single from outfielder Brandon Barnes and put the game away with outfielder Drew Stubbs scoring on a wild pitch from Cubs relief pitcher Wesley Wright.

"We got some timely hits tonight," Rockies manager Walt Weiss told the Associated Press.  "We got a few early, and then of course Barnesy had the big one late."

Chicago will send pitcher Jake Arrieta (5-2, 2.18 ERA) to the mound Thursday to help the team bounce back.  With pitcher Jeff Samardzija now in Oakland, Cubs manager Rick Renteria believes Arrieta, who's coming off his ninth straight quality start with Saturday's no-decision against St. Louis, is adapting to the role of Chicago's de facto ace pitcher.

"That performance is indicative of how much he's grown," Renteria said of Arrieta, who's 4-1 with a 1.77 ERA in his last nine starts.  "If that had been a couple years ago, and he was struggling, he wouldn't be able to grind through and pitch six innings without his best command (of) stuff."

Arrieta will be opposed by Pedro Hernandez (0-0, 0.00), whom the Rockies called up from the minors to fill in after scheduled starter Tyler Matzek pitched 2/3 innings in relief Thursday.
