Actor Simon Pegg might be the latest addition to the “Star Wars Episode 7” cast.

The rumors began when actor Benedict Cumberbatch mentioned Pegg was hanging out on the “Star Wars” set during an interview with MTV at San Diego Comic-Con, according to Vulture.

Pegg has previously denied involvement with the “Star Wars Episode 7” production. IGN reported back in June inside sources claimed the actor was hanging out on the Abu Dhabi set.

In an interview with Vulture, Pegg admitted he has visited the “Star Wars Episode 7,” but didn’t confirm he’d landed a role in the production.

“Well, J.J. uses me in different roles, and we’re good friends,” Pegg said. “I feel like my face in Star Wars would pop people out of the movie. Look, I love Star Wars, and I don’t want people to watch and go, Oh, there’s Simon Pegg’s face. The film is cleverly cast with these amazing, unknown actors.”

“Of course I visited the set,” Pegg added. “It’s amazing, and I love Star Wars. I want to see everything happening. It looks wonderful, and you need to believe those characters. Any type of stunt casting might just pop you out of the movie.”

In other “Star Wars” news, Badass Digest recently published alleged plot spoilers pertaining to the main characters of the film.

Actors John Boyega and Daisy Ridley are the alleged film leads. Boyega will reportedly play a storm trooper deserter who eventually meets Ridley’s character.

“Their quest takes them off world, and they meet up with Han Solo and Chewbacca, who aren't flying around in the Millenium Falcon anymore but are piloting... well, that could be a spoiler,” Badass Digest reports. “Anyway, Han and Chewie recognize the light saber as Luke's, and they say they haven't seen their friend in thirty years, since the events of Return of the Jedi.

“So begins a quest to find the missing Jedi Master. Meanwhile, on an ice planet, nefarious forces are building a super weapon, one capable of destroying not planets but entire solar systems.”

“Star Wars Episode 7” will be released to theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
