The mysterious red-haired woman debuted during a making-of trailer is not a Female Assassin in the upcoming “Assassin’s Creed: Unity.”

The latest AC: Unity trailer featured the new lead character Arno racing to save someone from his or her execution. Arno uses his Parkour skills to move about the streets of Paris, France. The Assassin eventually makes it to the town square where French soldiers are using the guillotines to execute one man after the other.

Arno breaks through the crowd, killing soldiers to successfully halt the executions. The trailer reveals a face of a woman, but the mysterious female is no Assassin. She wears the symbol of the Templar Order around her neck, which raises questions as to why an Assassin would want to save his enemy.

Ubisoft reveals at the end of the trailer the “fiery” Templar’s name is Elise. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information on the character yet. Check out the trailer below.

However, fans can expect “Assassin’s Creed: Unity” to take advantage of next-gen technology. Ubisoft Chairmen and CEO Yves Guillemot recently spoke to the company’s official blog about the development process for the title.

"You want liberty," Guillemot told Ubisoft's blog. "When you want to play solo, you play solo. If you want to play with your friends, then you let them come join you. The seamless solo/multiplayer is something that we've developed and that will continue to grow in the next few years.

The developer’s goal was to revamp familiar gameplay mechanics into a new, fresh experience for players. Developers also wanted take advantage of next-gen technology to get creative with the title’s mechanics in general.

"What I saw from the beginnings of this industry was, during those console shifts, there are lots of opportunities," Guillemot said. "Each time a new console is coming, there are lots of opportunities to create new brands or new types of gameplay - to change the worlds players are spending their time in."

“Assassin’s Creed: Unity” will be released to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 28.
