"One Direction" member Liam Payne apologized on Twitter for the marijuana smoking episode of his band members, a video of which was leaked recently, saying the band still had a lot of growing up to do.

Even though he was not involved in the incident, One Direction band member Liam Payne has shown the most maturity and apologized for his band mates' behavior, following a leaked video that shows some of the boys smoking pot.

"I love my boys and maybe things have gone a little sideways I apologize for that. We are only in our 20's we all do stupid things at this age," he tweeted over the weekend. "We all have a lot of growing up to do in an extreme circumstance I'm not making excuse but it's fact we are gunna fall short somewhere."

"Hopefully we stand the test of time an get it right in the end I don't take this for granted and im extremely grateful to be here doing this," he continued. "Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us through this just know that we love you guys for it and it means the world."

Payne's apology comes immediately after band member Harry Styles lashed out at the other members for their "irresponsible" behavior.

"Harry is annoyed about the whole debacle. This should be one of the biggest weeks of the band's career with the launch of their UK stadium tour," Mirror quoted a source telling The Sun. "Instead it has been taken over by this controversy. Harry thinks it was a stupid and reckless thing for Louis to allow to be filmed in the first place."

The source also said that Styles has been distancing himself from the other band members for a while because he's not "into such tactics." The singer is believed to be very focused and serious when it comes to his career.

As previously reported,  Daily Mail obtained and published a video, Wednesday, showing Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik smoking a "joint" and joking about marijuana use. The video didn't go down to well with many "One Direction" fans, who were seen  ripping up, burning or selling their tickets for the upcoming gigs in the U.K., Europe and America. A few fans also took to twitter to demand an apology from the two band members. According to many of them, filming such activities may have dire consequences considering the band members are role models with a young fan base.
