Dylan Michael Patton, former actor on the NBC soap opera “Days of Our Lives”, was charged Thursday for allegedly selling cocaine out of his home in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The 20-year old who played Will Horton on the famous daytime soap, was arrested Tuesday by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies. They served a warrant to search his home on Bardell Drive and allegedly seized cocaine from the house. The actor was charged with one count of possession for sale of a controlled substance.

Patton was scheduled to stand before a judge on Thursday in Van Nuys and expected to plead not guilty.

According to a criminal complaint, Patton allegedly distributed the illegal drug about 1,000 feet away from Sumac Elementary School.

The location of Patton’s alleged sales could cause him to face a more stringent penalty. California law's health and safety code says:

you face a three, six, or nine-year prison sentence. In addition, if you are convicted of this offense, and

1.     the drugs involved were heroin, cocaine or cocaine base, and

2.     the illegal activity took place on or within 1,000 feet of a school, place of worship, or essentially any other facility where minors are present,

you face an additional one or two years in the state prison.

The prosecution is asking the judge to put bail at $30,000. If Patton is found guilty he could spend as much as 11 years in prison.

Patton appeared in multiple episodes of Days of Our Lives from 2009-2010, according to IMDB.com. He also appeared in the popular Disney Channel show “That’s So Raven” in 2005 as Justin Banks.

Patton’s official biography says he was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for outstanding young actor in a drama series in 2010, according to CNN.com.
