Google rolled out a new update to fix the bricked Glass issue caused by previous software updates along with an offer of free accessories to make up for the hassle.

Google, the biggest search engine provider and the leader in mobile OS market, has been focusing a lot on its much touted Glass lately. The company rolled out new updates to improve the experience for its Explorers but the last two updates did not work well in its favor. Now, the Mountain View, Calif.-based tech company is rolling out a patch to fix a problem created by its previous debacles.

Last week, Google Glass Explorers were treated with new updates XE 16 and a much recent XE 16.1, but it turned out the software patch did anything but improve the Glass performance. Several users started complaining about sluggishness and unexpected reboots among other problems following the XE 16 software update. In order to fix that, Google silently pushed XE 16.1 earlier this week, but it worsened the situation.

Glass Explorers who updated their eyewear with XE 16.1 reported "infinite reboot," which made it impossible to use the Glass, reports Glass Almanac. The web giant quickly announced a new fix Wednesday, in the form of an update XE 16.11. It also turned off the auto-updates for its disastrous XE 16 and XE 16.1 Tuesday night.

Google's XE 16.1, which is more commonly referred to as KitKat for Glass, was aimed to improve the battery power and make it more easier for Android developers to create new apps for the Glass in future. Other additions included photo-bundling, photo replies via Hangouts and more.

Sarah Price, head of Google Glass Community and Social Media team, announced the XE 16.11 update in the private Explorers' forum, which is only accessible to registered Glass owners.

"Hi again, we've fixed XE 16.1 and the patched version (XE 16.11) is going out right now," Price wrote, according to Glass Almanac. "If your Glass is "stuck" and you can't get past the loading screen, please get in touch right away and we'll take care of you. Thanks for bearing with us."

Some Glass Explorers were happy with the latest update but some owners  who were still unable to get the Glass working were offered a free replacement and a free accessory of choice to make up for the inconvenience.  Ben Lang, a Glass Explorer shared his experience in a Google Plus post, Thursday, saying that Google offered a chance to choose a different Glass color during the free swap.

Glass owners can check for the latest update by going to Settings> Device Info > Check for updates. If the update hasn't worked for you, reach out to a Google Guide.
