Prime Pak Foods is recalling about 24,000 pounds of breaded and cooked chicken breast products due to "misbranding and undeclared allergens."

The products contained eggs and wheat without displaying an allergy warning on the label, which are widespread allergens, a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) news release reported.

The following products are included in the recall: two and five pound bags in a 10 pound box of "Sugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Tenders" with the product code 77422 printed on the box"; two and five pound bags in a 10 pound box of "Sugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Spicy Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks" with the product code 77448 printed on the box," the news release reported.

The chicken was produced from Dec. 12 2012 to March 21 2014 and displays the establishment "P-9165" on the USDA mark of inspection.  An inspection by the FSIS inspector on April 17, 2014 found the product did not properly list all ingredients and allergens.

The chicken tenders were sold to a number of large customer service institutions including hotels and restaurants.

There have been no reports of adverse reactions at this time, but the USDA stresses that anyone experiencing an allergic response to the chicken should contact their healthcare provider immediately.

Egg allergies can cause reactions such as "Skin inflammation or hives..; Allergic nasal inflammation (allergic rhinitis); Digestive (gastrointestinal) symptoms, such as cramps, nausea and vomiting; Asthma signs and symptoms such as coughing, chest tightness or shortness of breath," MayoClinic reported. The allergy can cause anaphylaxis in extreme cases.

Wheat allergy symptoms include: "swelling, itching or irritation of the mouth or throat; Hives, itchy rash or swelling of the skin; Nasal congestion; Itchy, watery eyes; Difficulty breathing; Cramps, nausea or vomiting"; and Diarrhea. MayoClinic reported. This type of food allergy could also cause anaphylaxis.
