The alleged rape victim of "X-Men" director Bryan Singer, 48, has decided to come forward in a press conference to address his civil lawsuit.

Michael Egan, 31, is set to appear at the press conference with his lawyer Jeff Herman, according TMZ.  Herman has also released an image of what a 17-year-old Egan looked like, which was his age during the time of the alleged rape.

Egan has filed a civil lawsuit against Singer claiming he was molested him on two separate occasions in 1998 and 1999, CNN reports.  The alleged unwanted sexual acts occurred at "a gay party" in Encino, Calif., TMZ reports.  Egan accused Singer of anally rapping him as well as forcing him to perform oral sex.

"[Singer] manipulated his power, wealth, and position in the entertainment industry to sexually abuse and exploit the underage Plaintiff through the use of drugs, alcohol, threats and inducements which resulted in Plaintiff suffering catastrophic psychological and emotional injuries," the complaint claims, according to CNN.

"The parties were typically sordid and featured sexual contact between adult males and the many teenage boys who were present for the parties," the lawsuit said, according to Reuters.

Singer's attorney, Marty Singer released a statement to CNN claiming the lawsuit is without "merit."

"We are very confident that Bryan will be vindicated in this absurd and defamatory lawsuit," Singer's rep said. "It is obvious that this case was filed in an attempt to get publicity at the time when Bryan' s new movie is about to open in a few weeks."

HNGN does not publish the name of rape victims as it violates their right to remain anonymous.  Egan's case is different as he has not sought out criminal charges against Singer and has come forward publicly with his civil lawsuit.
