"X-Men: Days of Future Past" has released the last teaser trailer before the released before the films hits theaters in May.

The new trailer shows Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) traveling back in time to prevent a Sentinel war. According to the teaser, the Sentinels are robotic weapons originally created to hunt and kill mutants, but soon after became out of control and began attacking everyone. You can watch the final theatrical trailer in the video below.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" stars Jackman, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as young Magneto, James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Ellen Page as Shadowcat, Nicholas Hoult as Beast and many more.

Buzzfeed recently confirmed another fan favorite would be joining the "X-Men" despite director Bryan Singer claiming her role was cut from the film. Anna Paquin will be making a cameo in the film, the entertainment website confirmed with 20th Century Fox on Tuesday. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" will be released to theaters on May 23.

The upcoming "X-Men" film's plot is a little more complex with the amount of time travelling needed to tell a compelling story. Back in February, Singer explained to Collider how he was able to simplify the story line despite a complex context.

"I wanted it to make sense, and very often with time travel, and this is a rare film where past and future are co-existing, so I had to create a set of rules where that made sense to me," Singer explained to Collider. "So that's what I set about I do I created a very specific set of rules. When do things change? Who observes the change? Who has no memory of the change? Who has no memory of what was and who does, and how that works."

"I think I cracked it," he added. "I think I figured it out but that was my first, when Matthew left the picture and I took it on, that didn't exist, there was a structure but there was no concept of time travel or how it works. So until I figured that out I had some misgivings about doing the movie. Once I figured that out I was very hooked, I felt like they had me cause I was like now I know how to do this and shoot this."
