"Batman vs. Superman" production is in full swing and with the lasting casting news comes speculation about who will take on what role in the upcoming sequel.

Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto and Holly Hunter recently joined the "Man of Steel 2" cast.  Though Mulvey's role remains a mystery, Hunter and Okamoto's characters are the main cause for speculations.

Casting rumors are the only "Batman vs. Superman" related updates that have made their way online.  Check out the list of five stories you should know about the "Batman vs. Superman" production this week.

1.  Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution for Warner Bros., confirms to Bloomberg "Man of Steel 2" will keep its release date:

"It doesn't make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date but there is a lot of time between now and [May 6, 2016]," Fellman said. "However at this time, we are not considering a change of date for 'Batman vs. Superman.'"

2.  Jennifer Garner's Batsuit comments get her in trouble with husband Ben Affleck

"I have gotten in some trouble for my little quotes and I'm learning to [keep my mouth shut]," she explained to Collider. "I thought that I was saying things that were foregone conclusions and it turns out nothing is, and you won't be hearing from me on the Batman front [again]."

3.  Lex Luthor's partner-in-crime will be newly cast Tao Okamoto

"Okamoto proved to be quite a versatile actress in The Wolverine, meaning that she could pull off playing either Lex's sassy sidekick, or possibly a fellow journalist at the Daily Planet," CBR reports.  "And if Snyder wants to sneak in another super hero, he could always make Okamoto an unnamed astronomer, thus paying homage to Dr. Light."

4.  David Goyer teases a possible "Justice League" movie to IGN

"I know that Warner Bros. would love to make their universe more cohesive. There have been a lot of general conversations about that, but it's really, really early. I'm not sure. Marvel has had enormous success, but I'm not sure that everybody should try to emulate them either. It's just been vague conversations so far."

5.  Holly Hunter could be Batman's new ally in "Man of Steel 2"

"We think Holly Hunter is going to be playing Leslie Thompkins, or a Leslie Thompkins replacement character," the Latino Review reports.  "...Leslie is a doctor who went to medical school with Bruce's dad before he was murdered and in some versions of the Batman mythos, comforted young Bruce the very night of. Think of her like a female Alfred, almost."
