A latest addition to the slew of human rights violations reports coming out of  North Korea is the news of the execution of the country's top official with a flamethrower, according to South Korea media.

The Chosun Ilbo, citing unnamed North Korean sources, reports that 11 senior government officials were either executed or imprisoned in the country, Sunday. Among them was O Sang-Hon, North Korea's Deputy Public Security Minister, who was reportedly burnt alive. He was accused of turning his department into a "personal protection squad" for Jang Song-thaek, uncle of Kim Jong-un, the Supreme Leader of North Korea.

Earlier, Jong-un executed Song-thaek, last December in a bid to subvert any opposition to his authority. Reports claimed that he was fed alive to more than 100 dogs that were kept hungry for three days.

Among those killed over the weekend were Kye-sun, Song-thaek's older sister and her husband Jon Yong Jin, North Korea's ambassador to Cuba. Others were described as close associates of the former Workers' Party administrative chief.

Another report by The Chosun Ilbo, states that North Korea aims to execute 200 high-ranking officials who were Song-thaek's supporters. And around 1,000 family members might be put in concentration camps.

Kim Chol, a vice minister of the army was executed October 2012 with a mortar round for allegedly drinking and partying during the official mourning period after the death of Kim Jong-il, Jong-un's father, reports Mirror. Jong-un ordered "no trace of him to be left behind, down to his hair," said sources in Seoul.

Chol was made to stand on a spot that had been targeted for a mortar round and "obliterated."

According to news agency Yonhap, a source said the Jon-un's military regime held a mass execution of Song-thaek's relatives. "Extensive executions have been carried out for relatives of Jang Song Taek," one anonymous source said in January. "All relatives of Jang have been put to death, including even children."

The third purge will "target Song-thaek's supporters in provincial chapters of the Workers Party," reports the globalpost.
