After multiple hints from Nokia, the arrival of the Lumia 928 has been announced by Verizon Wireless.
The latest smartphone in the Lumia series runs on the Windows Phone 8 platform and features Optical Image Stabilization and PureView technology.
“Fans at a concert can record full 1080p HD videos with the 8.7-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss® optics and take advantage of the high audio amplitude microphones for distortion-free sound. Reliving those moments on video is easy with the phone’s 4.5-inch PureView display,” says the phone’s page on the Verizon Wireless website.
The phone comes with a number of apps including Smart Shoot, Cinemagraph and Panorama. Smart Shoot allows users to take five photos at once, look at each frame and choose the face with the best quality. The phone also comes with Nokia Music which allows users to listen to ad-free streaming of their favorite songs.
According to a confirmation CNET received form Nokia, the phone is made with polycarbonate instead of aluminum, which may be one of the phone’s downfalls. Polycarbonate is a form of plastic.
The phone is available from Verizon Wireless starting May 16 for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate and with a two-year agreement.
