According to a report by Radar Online, there was a little drama on the dance floor. Viewers were shocked when two couples were eliminated from "Dancing With the Stars" on Mar. 24. Professional hockey player Sean Avery and swimmer Diana Nyad were the two celebrities sent home.

Usually the dancing competition show only votes off one couple. According to Radar, a source revealed that Avery, and his partner Karina Smirnoff, were purposely sent home because of an altercation the hockey player had with an executive producer.

"Sean getting the boot from the show was purely political and it stemmed from him being upset about a video package introducing his dance in which they portrayed him as a bad boy/playboy," the source said. "Sean called the EP, Conrad Green, and told him to go f*k himself and then hung up."

The source went on to say that the judges "all vied against him with low scores to ensure he got eliminated," Radar writes. After the show Avery tweeted that he would tell everyone why he was sent home when he and Smirnoff appeared on "Good Morning America."

"I think we knew as of probably Monday last week that our fate was sealed," he said on "GMA." "I had a conversation with Conrad, one of the producers, and I was upset at the package that they had brought in the week previous, and it was a very tacky attempt to show me as the bad boy of 'DWTS.' And I think in reality TV or some sort of competition. If you have a disagreement with the producers then generally that seals your fate quite early."

ABC had no comment on Avery's claims. A source told Radar that because the athlete and his partner were eliminated so early in the competition, the producers want to keep Smirnoff on board as a guest judge.

"The show wants to make things fair for Karina, a fan favorite, so they're working on a deal with her to serve as a guest judge the rest of the season," the source said.
