Charlie Sheen's ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, has allegedly, been placed under a 5150, California's Welfare Institutions Code on Wednesday night, shortly after her four-year-old twins Bob and Max were placed in the care of Denise Richards, Sheen's second ex-wife.

According to Us Weekly, a rep for Mueller confirmed that she had checked into a hospital.

"Despite reports to the contrary, Brooke is currently at UCLA Medical Center where she has been since being admitted May 3."

News broke on Friday that Mueller's twin boys with Sheen had been removed from the home by Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services after deeming the residence "unsafe."

Mueller has struggled with substance abuse problems in the past. Her rep told Us Weekly that she will be in the hospital for a few more days and will then go directly into a residential treatment facility to get help for her prescription drug abuse.

"Brooke misses her children, and wants to get healthy so she can resume her life and get back to being a mom," the rep told the magazine.

Sheen is supporting Mueller during all of this. A rep for Sheen told Us Weekly told that he "supports the actions of the Department of Children and Family Services."

His rep said that Sheen will "fully cooperate and fully participate" and he knows Max and Bob are safe in a stable, loving environment with Denise and the boys' sisters."

TMZ reported that Mueller feels Richards was the best option because she is a great parent. According to TMZ's source, Mueller feels knowing the boys are in good hands will allow her to focus and get the help she needs. Mueller has already been to rehab 19 times.
