Members of the National Guard patrol a Manhattan subway station Monday in New York City. Police are looking for 13 people who assaulted and robbed a 19-year-old man in a Manhattan subway station early Wednesday morning.

Police are searching for 13 people who they say stabbed and robbed a 19-year-old man of his sneakers and cellphone at a Manhattan subway station early Wednesday, according to a report.

The victim was approached by a group of people around 1:15 a.m. on the D-train platform at Columbus Circle who engaged him in a conversation, PIX 11 reported, citing the NYPD.

The 19-year-old man was then assaulted and the assailants took off with his coat, cellphone and sneakers.

He was treated for minor injuries at Mount Sinai West Hospital.

The incident comes amid an uptick of high-profile crimes on the subway and less than a week after a rider pulled a gun on a fellow commuter during an argument on an A train in Brooklyn.

The other passenger managed to wrestle the gun away from the man and opened fire on the train, wounding the "aggressor" in the altercation and sending commuters scrambling for safety last Thursday.

Gov. Kathy Hochul earlier this month ordered State Police and members of the New York National Guard to be deployed across the sprawling transportation system in an effort to reduce crime.
