Two Rivers Police Department held a press conference on Wednesday night at City Hall to discuss the search for Elijah Vue, the three-year-old boy who went missing after his mother sent him to the house of her male acquaintance for disciplinary reasons.

After a week, when an Amber Alert went out on February 20 in the Wisconsin town of Two Rivers, the city is still looking for Vue.

WAUWATOSA, WISCONSIN - NOVEMBER 20: Police secure the scene outside the Mayfair Mall after a gunman opened fire on November 20, 2020 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Several people were reported to have been injured with the gunman still at large.

Vue was last seen on February 20 at around 8 am on the 3900 block of Michicot Road in Two Rivers, a town on the shore of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin. The police department reported that "the adult caregiver,' believed to be his mother's partner, Jesse Vang, called them to report the boy was missing.

According to the authorities, Vue, from Wisconsin Dells, around 150 miles away, was asked to stay with Vang for disciplinary reasons by his mother, Katrina Baur. The court documents, which NBC 26 obtained on Monday, claimed that Baur sent her kid to Vang so he could teach the boy how to be a man.

Vang allegedly used tactics on the boy, such as timeouts in which he was made to stand for one to three hours or endure a cold shower. When Vue disappeared, he wore grey pants, a dark-colored long-sleeve shirt, and red-and-green dinosaur slip-on shoes.

According to The Independent, investigators urged the public to be on the lookout for the little boy and described him as being of Hmong and white ethnicity, about three feet tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. They noted that he has a birthmark on his left knee.

Furthermore, the police are also looking for traces of his red and white plaid blanket, which he might have been carrying that morning.

Baur, Vang Arrested

Vue's mother was detained and accused of party-to-a-crime child neglect the day after her son disappeared. She is being held on a $15,000 cash bond.

Baur reportedly altered the story of her whereabouts at least twice throughout her interviews with authorities. She was hit with two further obstruction charges on Monday, February 26.

Vang was also taken into custody a few hours after Vue went missing and was charged with child neglect. He is being jailed on a $20,000 bond and is said to have a history of other criminal charges, including child abuse.

After their initial appearance on Friday, the two were scheduled to return to court on Monday afternoon. Furthermore, local reports said that Vue's father has also served time in prison.

The Vue family has been actively participating in his search, claiming they have not spoken to the boy since he was still a baby.
