On Thursday, the Metropolitan Museum of Arts announced that Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, and Bad Bunny will serve as the co-chairs in this year's Met Gala, one of the highlights of the New York social calendar.

The showbiz A-listers, alongside Vogue's Anna Wintour, will welcome guests to the museum for the Costume Institute's 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion' exhibition.

NEW YORK, NY - MAY 07: Actor Zendaya attends the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 7, 2018 in New York City.

Through a playful social media video, Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, and Bad Bunny were revealed as this year's hosts. In the video, Anna tells the stars that 'Garden of Time' is the dress code for this year over an iMessage conversation.

Bad Bunny will be in his third season at the Met this year. Zendaya has attended the largest fashion show with her top fashion game five times, while Jennifer Lopez has already graced the Met thirteen times.

This year, Chris Hemsworth will attend his first Met. Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Loewe, and Shou Zi Chew, CEO of TikTok, are honorary chairs for Met 2024.

The English author J.G. Ballard's 1962 short tale of the same name served as the basis for "The Garden of Time," which is about the ephemeral nature of beauty.

'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,' the post-Gala fashion exhibit and theme, is accompanied by 'The Garden of Time' dress code. In the teaser video, Anna clarified any confusion over what fans can expect from this year's red carpet by endorsing looks that subtly nod to earlier eras and impressionism.

Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute, told Variety, "It is very much an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion. One thing I hope this show will activate is that sensorial appreciation of fashion."

The exhibit, which will be open to the public following the extravagant star-studded event, will showcase 250 pieces and present a new way to enjoy fashion. AI and CGI will be used at the Met to improve the visitor experience.

Fans are pressing for Travis Kelce to attend, while there is no word yet on the guest list for this year's event. They think the football star could be the next big thing in fashion after seeing his stylish entrance at the Super Bowl and a season full of amazing outfits.

As for Taylor Swift, she has not attended the Met Gala since 2016, but the megastar will be embarking on her 'Eras' Tour around the same time.

Stars like Lady Gaga and Blake Lively have already stood out with styles that both elevate and encapsulate the concept. Harry Styles' calendar appears to be open at the moment, but there is no guarantee of that possibility.

Met Gala's Karl Lagerfeld 'Problematic' Theme

The organizers of the High Fashion Twitter Met Gala announced on X, formerly Twitter, two weeks before the 2023 event that they will not be hosting their usual digital companion event to the yearly Costume Institute Benefit, also known as "fashion's biggest night."

The team wrote that as they approach the first Monday of May, they will not be celebrating this year's Met Gala as their values do not align with the selection of Karl Lagerfeld as the theme.

The group's response is part of a longer, ongoing conversation about Lagerfeld's complicated legacy as a prominent designer who also enjoyed making horrible jokes that were misogynistic, racist, and fatphobic.

The conversation surrounding the late designer has reached a fever pitch following the announcement that he will inspire this year's Met Gala theme, 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,' including 150 of his designs and original sketches.
