Anti-Israel hackers projected graphic images from the Hamas attack on October 7 onto movie screens in Tel Aviv this week, as well as hate messages calling Israelis "terrorist killers."

Local news website Ynet reported that the hackers - who were believed to be Turkish - breached the advertising screens of the Lev Cinema chain in the city.

"Stupid Jews, you are all terrorist killers," the hackers, believed to be from the MeshSec Turkish Hacktivist Crew based on the Roman-lettered text above the message, wrote.

"You are cowards. You will take responsibility for the hundreds of innocent children who died in Gaza. We will not give you peace, even in your movie theaters, until your massacres are over."

The hackers also threatened to limit Israel's access to the internet, as well as banking services.

"We will destroy you all," the message added. "God is with us."

Cinema Chain Swiftly Takes Down Hackers' Message

Lev CEO Guy Shani told Ynet that the hackers got into an external system updating its screens and trailers. He added that the screens where the slides appeared were immediately turned off as police investigations are underway.

The incident was just the latest in a string of cyberattacks made by pro-Palestinian hackers and Hamas supporters against various servers in Israel.

According to public broadcaster i24, the Israeli Defense Forces website was breached last month by hackers who managed to broadcast a message in Arabic glorifying the Hamas fighters involved in the October 7 attack.
