Halle Bailey announced the arrival of her first child on Saturday, January 6, in a sweet photo posted on Instagram. Her partner, rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., better known by his stage as DDG is a father to the baby boy.
Bailey shared a picture of her newborn boy's hand wearing a gold nameplate bracelet. The caption says: "[Even] though we're a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son. [Welcome] to the world, my [Halo] ... [The] world is desperate to know you."
A similar photo with the caption "[My] biggest blessing by far ... [Never] been so in love ... [Baby Halo" was posted by DDG on his Instagram page.
Secret Pregnancy
The official confirmation of Halle and DDG's relationship came two months after they were linked in January 2022. This news is a surprise to the fans since the pair never made an official announcement that they were expecting. Halle even hid her growing baby belly in a ruffled red gown during last month's premiere of her film The Color Purple.
The announcement of the baby's arrival follows an Instagram live over four months ago after Chloë, the actress' older sister, seemed to address rumors that her sister was expecting a child. Fans thought the The Little Mermaid star was trying to cover up her pregnancy due to a number of dress choices she made.
"Y'all better keep my sister's name out your mouth," Chloë said, perhaps in reaction to the persistent claims.

Romance Amid Rumors
According to Entertainment Tonight, Halle wants to keep her private life private. Still, since going public, her relationship with DDG has been the subject of breakup rumors and scrutiny despite their open praise of each other in interviews and social media posts.
After the July 2023 premiere of his song Famous, the rapper was criticized. On the track, DDG raps about his relationship woes with a famous lady, seemingly slamming Halle for "kissing" and "holding hands" with a co-star on set. He also addressed his real-life girlfriend's alleged attraction to other men, expressing his desire to quit the relationship but being "too attached."
While neither has spoken out directly about the speculation, DDG shot down rumors of a breakup by showing his support for Halle on American Idol. At the same time, she performed Part of Your World from Disney's live-action fantasy film. Also, Halle has consistently gushed about her lover in public, ignoring the allegations to the contrary.
