A homeless man named Abraham Kentish, 27 allegedly attacked two people outside his own shelter before slashing a third sleeping person at a nearby subway station in Brooklyn on early Sunday morning (November 12).

The New York Police Department (NYPD) told the New York Post that Kentish slashed a 38-year-old man in the face and stabbed a 70-year-old man in the torso in front of the men's shelter on Blake Avenue near Linwood Street in East New York.

Ten minutes later, police alleged that the attacker wounded a 26-year-old stranger with a slash on his head while sleeping on board a southbound No. 4 train near the New Lots Avenue subway station, just blocks away from the shelter.

All three victims were taken to Brookdale University Hospital in a stable condition.

Roughly an hour after the attack, Kentish was arrested at Pennsylvania and Linden Avenues on three counts of felony assault.

The motives for the knife attack remained unclear as investigations are underway.
