NBA star LeBron James thanked basketball fans for their well-wishes after his 18-year-old son Bronny was taken to hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest Tuesday (July 25).

"We feel you and I'm so grateful. Everyone doing great," the elder James said on social media. "We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love. Will have more to say when we're ready but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us! #JamesGang."

In an earlier statement, the older James said he was "scared and devastated" following the incident.

Bronny James's Cardiac Arrest

The younger James was training with the USC Trojans Tuesday when he had a cardiac arrest and was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since stabilized. A source familiar with the matter said he had a cardiac screening several months ago as part of a program for prospective NBA players, CNN reported.

The screening included a transthoracic echocardiogram, which looks at blood flow through the heart and heart valves, and an EKG, which is a recording of the heart's electrical activity, the source said. It was revealed both screenings came back with normal results.

COVID-19 Conspiracy Theories

Even with the official statements, many on social media immediately reacted to Bronny James's medical issue connected to the COVID-19 vaccine.

It was reported the James family complied with requests from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and got vaccinated.

Within the half-hour of the news coming through, Elon Musk wasted no time sharing his unwarranted conspiracy theory.

"We cannot ascribe everything to the vaccine, but, by the same token, we cannot ascribe nothing." he said on X, formerly Twitter, "Myocarditis is a known side-effect. The only question is whether it is rare or common."

A similar incident happened to Jamie Foxx recently.
