27yo Man Charged After Throwing Phone at Bebe Rexha's NYC Concert

New Jersey man Nicolas Malvagna was charged with assault after throwing his phone at Rexha during her New York show.

The man who threw a mobile phone to the face of American singer and songwriter Bleta "Bebe" Rexha was charged with assault Monday.

New York City Police (NYPD) reported that 27-year-old New Jersey man Nicolas Malvagna was arrested after he allegedly threw his phone at Rexha while performing at a concert for the New York leg of her "Best F'n Night of My Life" tour Sunday.

Malvagna was immediately charged for the incident, police added. He could not be reached for comment as of writing.

Videos of the incident were posted on social media, showing the moment Rexha was struck by the phone. As per the clip, she fell to her knees and was assisted by crew members to return backstage.

"Absolutely great show ruined by a fan throwing their phone at @BebeRexha," tweeted an audience member witnessing the event. "[H]opefully she is ok after that."

Rexha was sent to the hospital shortly after the incident in stable condition, prompting an early end for her show.

She posted an update on Instagram saying, "I'm good," alongside photos showing her face with an apparent black eye and bandaged stitches.

The incident might affect Rexha's upcoming shows next week in Philadelphia, Silver Spring, and Atlanta and might be postponed to a later date. Rexha's management is yet to announce any updates.
