The exciting development has sent waves of anticipation through the NFL community, as the Bay Area prepares to welcome football's greatest spectacle to its iconic venue.

It is worth noting that the plans for the next season of the Super Bowl have been confirmed. Las Vegas is hosting the Super Bowl 58 at the Allegiant Stadium. In 2024, New Orleans is hosting the grand sporting event at the Caesars Superdome.

However, the plans for the Super Bowl in 2026 have yet to be ironed out. For now, CNBC reports that the NFL owners are set to meet in Minneapolis to discuss the upcoming Super Bowl 60, scheduled on February 8, 2026.

Last March, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the 49ers, Jed York, spoke about the possibility of hosting the future Super Bowl season during the NFL Annual Meeting. The 49ers boss expects its much-awaited comeback to the Bay Area soon.

He seems confident about it, saying that his "optimism is very high." Yet, he admits that he is unsure if they could host the Super Bowl 60. But despite that, he says, "I feel very confident [we are] going to get a Super Bowl in the near future."

York further recalls that the Bay Area previously hosted Super Bowl 50. And as such, he expects a much-awaited comeback for Super Bowl 60.

Besides the 49ers' big boss, other NFL teams reportedly support the long-anticipated Bay Area comeback, further fueling the buzz surrounding the prestigious event.

The cherished home of the 49ers opened its doors way back in 2014, CBS Sports notes. And since then, it has hosted heart-thumping sporting matches, including hockey and soccer games. Various concerts also graced Levi's Stadium.
