Russia Is Expected To Maintain 'Honesty' Despite Criticism as Moscow Assumes UN Security Council Presidency

The Russian envoy to the UN hailed the ascension of his country to the UN Security Council presidency even though many are not okay with it. He adds that Moscow's goal is, to be honest in this rotation of the council presidency.

Russian UN Envoy Says Its Goal Is To Maintain Honesty

Moscow's first deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, says heading the UN Security Council will do its best to dispense its functions honestly last Saturday. On his channel in Telegram, he posts a comment, noting TASS.

Taking its turn in the monthly leadership rotation was not an easy pill to swallow for the US and Western allies. These nations are waging war on the Russian Federation, reported Republic World.

Kyiv did not receive news of Russia obtaining the presidency well, and Zelensky said it was a systemic blow. Polyansky indicated trying to provoke the Kremlin will not work, stated Russian media. He added that his media post had shamed those wholly opposed to Moscow. Last April 1, it came into effect expressed to deal with all issues fairly, just like on February 22 last year when Vladimir Putin announced the start of the special military operation in Donbas, citing Reuters.

Made it clear to the west that pointless provocations against Moscow are a wasted effort. Dmitry Polyansky said it would be a fair playing field, not the Western double standards yielding nothing.

Ukraine Criticizes Russia's UNSC Presidency 

The 15-member international organizations had Russia as the chair last Saturday, which is on a rotational basis each month. There is no effect regarding the Ukraine conflict; it was last year in February when Russia was the head.

During the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the special military operation in the Donbas. This has made the Ukraine bloc very distressed even got a comment from Sergiy Kyslytsya, the UN envoy. He said it coming on April 1 or April Fool's Day is not funny anymore, pointing to the timing of it.

The Ukrainian diplomat claims the security council mechanisms cannot deal with stopping conflicts as its main function and citing the conduct of the Ukraine conflict. A statement from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claims it's absurd and destructive, charging the UN body as useless and ruined due to Moscow's ascendancy. FM Dmytro Kuleba added to the Ukrainian meltdown on Twitter called getting backhanded by the Kremlin.

He stressed that Russia at the helm of the presidency is against the international community. He even claimed that Moscow would misuse the agency's functions, such as double standards. He tried to justify calling the Russian federation an outlaw in the UNSC last Saturday.

On April 1, the Russian envoy announced that Moscow would sit in the UN Security Council presidency and vows to be honest in its tenure.
