Iran and Azerbaijan have tension at present Russian FM Sergey Lavrov said it should be resolved soon, as he stated last Wednesday.

Iran and Azerbaijan Are at Odds

Russia is ready to provide all necessary assistance for the reconciliation between the two countries, Lavrov said at a news conference in Moscow following a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

He added that Baku and Tehran would stop the current hostility because it is counterproductive and be settled the soonest reported by Anadolu Agency.

Lavrov discussed the contentious Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or Iran deal as a significant concern. He added that Moscow monitored what had been happening between Tehran and Europe, with Americans as well. Stated that all this discussion that is happening would bring about something positive for the Iranian nuclear program, noted TASS.

The Russian FM impinged that its time for the US to step and do what was due under the nuclear deal with Iran-remarked that sanctions on Iran are illegal and the US should correct itself because the world is considering what it does.

In 2015 the Iran nuclear deal was signed by Tehran with the participation of the US, UK, Russia, France, and China (UN Security), and Germany, EU as part of the deal, cited the BBC.

Conditions that are part of the deal cover several points, including limits in nuclear research for arms production, and western nations would remove sanctions as part of the deal.

It was ex-US President Donald Trump who removed the US from the deal way back in 2018 and then placed back the sanctions. For Tehran, it will be a move back from the agreement and resume nuclear research.

Lavrov focused on the current conflict in Ukraine with the Iranian FM and appreciated the opinion Tehran expressed.

FM Lavrov Calls Out US Intentions in Ukraine

Additionally, NATO countries and their involvement in Ukraine are not doing anything positive to lessen the escalation of the conflict. As far as things are, it's already more involved without them trying to. They've decided to be on Zelensky's side, mentioning Al Alarabiya.

Lavrov reacted to what the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken called the moves for peace in Ukraine a trap and seemed to disparage it. He added the US is alleged to be the chief instigator with lots to gain if the conflict continues.

He called Washington and its allies wanting to press geopolitical gains by trying to allegedly do anything to dislodge Moscow from its position as a dam to hold back unipolar interests. Russia stands for multipolarity with its allies.

Blinken stated that the calls for peace are not well meant, and they can stop the conflict that will benefit Russia. He claims the Russian war machine needs to have a reprieve. Pointed out that advantages should be preserved to allow rest, resupply, and time to resume its offensive.

Russian FM Lavrov sees the conflicting tensions between Iran and Azerbaijan as not beneficial and wants the two to resolve to do wants, must be done for everyone's good.
