'American Idol' Contestant Criticizes Katy Perry for 'Mom Shaming'

Per Mirror, after Katy Perry declared they were going to faint upon learning Sara's real age, the auditionee remarked, "If Katy lays on the table, I'm going to pass out."

In response to Sara's three children, Katy Perry said, "Honey, you been laying on the table too much!"

The mother of three stated on TikTok that t was embarrassing to have it on television. And that was offensive. She started the video by introducing herself, then described what transpired during the audition, as per The Independent.

Saying that the joke "wasn't super kind," she continued, "I did want to take this opportunity to say that I think women supporting and uplifting other women is so cool, and that I think mom shaming is so lame."

She then encouraged others to help women and spoke directly about young moms who had reached out to her for assistance. Katy Perry's remark was made in response to the judges' inability to comprehend Sara's age of 25. The singer feigned fainting in the studio, believing she was considerably younger.

Afterward, the singer, whose partner is actor Orlando Bloom, inquired as to if Idol was Sara's dream. Insisting that Sara sing a second song, the member of Swish Swish ultimately voted for the young mother together with Luke Bryan, beating Lionel Ritchie.

The hopeful is currently on her route to Hollywood, but it remains to be seen if she will advance to the live events and meet Katy Perry once more.
