Ukrainian officials observed that Russia started using spy balloons in the war.

Russia launched 36 missiles at several locations in Ukraine on Thursday, aiming for military and civilian installations.

Kyiv authorities said that its air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed at least 16 missiles in the latest attack in the Russia-Ukraine War, per DW.

Andriy Yermak, the chief of the Ukrainian presidential administration, indicated that the country's northern, western, and southern areas had been affected.

According to the Ukrainian top government official, the Russian military used fake rockets to trick the Ukrainian air defenses in the Russia-Ukraine War. Despite this, the Ukrainian army's high command claimed that 16 of the 36 missiles had been intercepted.

Authorities said a missile attack in Dnipropetrovsk killed a 79-year-old lady. Fifty houses and one industrial facility were damaged, and at least eight individuals were injured. Three missiles struck the key infrastructure plant in Lviv, western Ukraine.

Russia Changes Strategy

Russian airstrikes have historically been conducted during the day and have often targeted energy infrastructure. However, Ukrainian authorities said that the overnight assault had little effect on electricity.

They think Moscow is changing its tactics, which include utilizing balloons for surveillance in the Ukraine war.

On Telegram, Yermak remarked that Russian forces "have changed their tactics somewhat. They conduct active reconnaissance, use false targets," Reuters reported.
