The latest Russian attacks included Iranian-made Shahed drones, according to Ukraine's top military official.

Russia launched a barrage of air assaults throughout Ukraine early Friday using strategic bombers, cruise missiles, and killer drones, as Kyiv said Moscow's military effort has been developing for days.

Since late Thursday, the Russia missile attack utilized 71 cruise missiles, 35 S-300 missiles, and seven Shahed drones, according to Gen. Valerii Zaluzhnyi, commander-in-chief of Ukraine's armed forces.

Zaluzhnyi said that five drones and 61 cruise missiles were shot down by Ukrainian soldiers in the latest Russian missile attack assault in the Russia-Ukraine war, according to AP News.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that greater Western assistance was needed to counter Russia's military aspirations. He called the Russian missile attack a "terror that can and must be stopped."

Volodymyr Zelensky also noted in a recent video speech that while his country had received "good signals" from its allies about the supply of fighter planes, tanks, and long-range missiles, more needed to be done in this direction as the Russia-Ukraine war continues, per Ukrinform. President Zelensky visited London, Paris, and Brussels from February 8 to 9.
