Is Twitter Down? Thousands of Users Reportedly Received Message on 'Daily Limit' For Tweets

Given the recent significant layoffs at the company, one user cautioned that the Twitter outage is cause for serious concern, which is consistent with the opinions of many IT experts.

Several Twitter users failed to tweet when the social media platform encountered technical issues on Wednesday.

During the Twitter down problem, users received the message: "You are over the daily limit for sending Tweets."

The Twitter outage was first detected by the downtime monitoring service DownDetector at about 22:00 GMT, according to BBC.

Despite not tweeting on Wednesday, several users claim to have received notifications from Twitter indicating they had exceeded the daily limit of 2,400 tweets.

In addition, Twitter users said they were experiencing issues sending and receiving messages. Users reported being locked out of the Twitter dashboard application, TweetDeck. Though, the number of those impacted by the technical problem of Elon Musk Twitter is still unknown.

Private conversations obtained by Insider indicated "a massive outage," as one ex-Twitter employee called it. A current employee at a big IT business told Twitter that their organization's official pages were not working, noting that the Twitter outage is a significant concern.

Elon Musk Takes Action

Someone familiar with the organization described the situation inside as a "scramble" as employees tried to determine what had gone wrong and how to solve it. Many users were able to tweet and like again by Wednesday afternoon Pacific Time.

After the Twitter outage, Elon Musk reportedly sent a short email to Twitter employees, telling them to "pause new feature development" to maintain "system stability and robustness," per Business Insider.

Although the reason for Wednesday's Twitter down problem remains unknown, Twitter engineers and industry experts have been warning that the company is more susceptible to errors now that Elon Musk has sacked the majority of the staff members in charge of keeping it operational,according to Fox News.
