It has been reported that TJ Holmes has filed for divorce from his wife in the midst of his alleged affair with Amy Robach.
T.J Holmes is divorcing his wife of 13 years as a result of his alleged affair with GMA3 anchor Amy Robach. Wednesday in New York City, the 45-year-old ABC anchor filed for divorce from immigration attorney Marilee Fiebig, according to court documents.
Holmes and Fiebig, both 45 years old, wed in March 2010 and have a nine-year-old daughter named Sabine. The GMA3 co-anchor has two children from a previous marriage to Amy Ferson, Brianna, and Jaiden, as per USA TODAY.
TJ Holmes Files For Divorce
The lawsuit for divorce was filed after the alleged affair between Holmes and Robach, 49, made headlines last month when the Daily Mail published video and photographs indicating a romantic relationship between the two married news anchors. One photograph depicted the couple holding hands. In another image, Holmes is bottom-patting Robach.
In 2010, Robach married Melrose Place actor Andrew Shut. In September, they listed their New York City apartment for sale. Robach has two children from her previous marriage to Tim McIntosh; the couple did not have children together.
ABC decided earlier this month to remove Robach and Holmes from its afternoon news program, citing the allegations as a distraction. The network has not yet made a final judgment as to whether either or both will return to their lunchtime series following the discovery that their well-publicized relationship and on-screen chemistry went over the line.
President of ABC News Kim Godwin informed the editorial staff of her decision in a meeting on December 5. As the couple prepares to enter 2023 together, they may heave a sigh of relief to leave behind the year in which their affair shattered both of their 12-year marriages.
TJ Holmes, Amy Robach Rumored Affair
Since 2010, both Holmes and Robach have been married to Marilee Fiebig and Andrew Shue, respectively. According to reports, both couples broke up in August of this year after learning of the co-hosts' relationship.
Initially, Robach and Holmes appeared determined to brazen it out, with T.J. causing surprise when he appeared alongside Robach and made light of the scandal following the revelation of their relationship.
Then, on Friday, December 2, he joked that it had been a wonderful week and he wished it would just keep going. Their next step was to declare that they were openly dating and discuss growing their relationship.
Holmes's initial response to DailyMail.com's request for comment was a career-saving attempt to vehemently deny' the existence of the relationship, according to Daily Mail. According to a report in Variety on December 5th, ABC News president Kim Godwin broke the news to staff during an editorial call.
Holmes and Robach reportedly started dating in early September after both ending marriages in August. He joked that Fiebig should have left him and thanked her for staying married to him in a Facebook post.
Two of Holmes's children are from his first marriage, which was to Amy Ferson. He and Ferson have a daughter, Brianna, and a son, Jaiden, and he and Fiebig have a daughter, Sabine, as per Independent.
