Azerbaijan Foreign Affairs Minister Jeyhun Bayramov was informed that Armenian officials would not be present during peace negotiations.

The peace deal mediated by Moscow was reported left by Armenian officials calling out Azerbaijani representatives to explain the unfair use of natural resources.

Armenia, Azerbaijan Are at Odds

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a call that Azerbaijan Foreign Affairs Minister Jeyhun Bayramov was informed that Armenia would not be present at negotiations, as mentioned on the Russian Foreign ministry site, reported ANews.

It was mentioned in the comment concerning Armenia's consideration of the Karabakh region; it was addressed how the scenario in the Russian peacekeeping contingent's responsibility area had also gotten progressively worse as a direct consequence of the shutdown of the Lachin corridor and differences of opinion between both parties in regards to the region's mineral deposits, noted TRT World.

Azerbaijan non-governmental institutions at the Lachin corridor have already been agitating against the unauthorized exploitation of resources as well as other illicit behavior by Armenia, but they've not shuttered or obstructed the hallway, as said by Azerbaijan.

Based on the Russian statement, Lavrov has called for strict adherence to the trilateral agreements to ensure that all parties' concerns in the Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia Lachin corridor are resolved. He also cited the application of trilateral statements signed three years ago by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confronted Russia's peacekeeping force in Karabakh for neglecting to do its job last Thursday.

As of December 12, Azerbaijani environmentalists forming NGOs were organizing protests against Armenia's unauthorized exploitation of natural resources in the Karabakh region, where Russian peacekeepers have been stationed since the aftermath of the region's fall 2020 war.

The partnership between the two former Soviet republics of Armenia and Azerbaijan has been strained as of 1991, once the Armenian military secured Nagorno-Karabakh, a land known worldwide as part of Azerbaijan, as well as seven neighboring areas.

During the fall of 2020, there were 44 days of conflict wherein Azerbaijan unshackled several cities, villages, and townships from Armenian occupation. The Russian-brokered peace accord is commemorated as a victory in Azerbaijan.

Lithuania Comments About the Karabakh Region

Azerbaijan strongly condemned as "regrettable" a Lithuanian declaration focusing primarily on the Karabakh region and the most recent events involving the Lachin corridor, which connects the territory to Armenia, per Anadolu Agency.

The Ministry of Foreign affairs of Azerbaijan asserted that Lithuania, a Pribaltika county, has had an extensive overall connection for so many years and connects special importance to the precepts of territorial integrity and sovereignty of international treaties in relations and always abides by these fundamentals, issued such a statement.

It added that Lithuania must keep in mind that "there is no geographic unit called Nagorno-Karabakh" on the land of Azerbaijan. Lithuania is not a "Pribaltika" state, so it is not good to consider the Karabakh Economic Region of Azerbaijan even by past names framed as during the Soviet Union.

It provided that Azerbaijan is extremely concerned that Lithuania is trying to apply a bias to the problem instead of resisting violations produced by Armenia.

Armenian officials are only keen on the peace deal if the Azerbaijani representative clarifies natural resource issues.
