Another lawyer has resigned from Kanye "Ye" West's divorce from Kim Kardashian.

According to fresh court documents acquired by ET, Samantha Spector filed a petition to be released as West's counsel in his divorce lawsuit with Kim Kardashian on May 26. The cause, according to Spector, is an irreconcilable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship, which prompted her to file the request and withdraw from the couple's continuing divorce proceedings. The documents also state that Spector served West with the motion and has interacted with him through his new attorney, Deborah Hong, as well as via email and letter.

Kanye West Reignites Custody Battle in New Song

The celebrity divorce lawyer, who previously represented Nicole Young in her divorce from Dr. Dre, took up the case earlier this year when West dismissed Chris Melcher ahead of Kim Kardashian's March hearing, which ruled her legally single - a court triumph for the beauty entrepreneur.

That same month, a source informed ET that Kanye West was considering formalizing parenting arrangements for his and Kim Kardashian's four children, North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3, according to ET Online.

Kanye West mourned his role as a co-parent to his four children with ex-wife Kim Kardashian in his new track, True Love, which was released on Thursday night. After more than six years of marriage, Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021. Since last autumn, she has been dating comedian Pete Davidson, 28.

Meanwhile, West's attorney, Samantha Spector, has filed paperwork to withdraw from the rapper's divorce proceedings from Kim Kardashian. According to court documents, Spector alleged an irreconcilable rupture with the artist.

A Pennsylvania attorney (who is not a divorce lawyer) will represent the Grammy-winning singer in his divorce from Kim Kardashian. Spector, who previously represented Amber Heard and Dr. Dre's ex-wife Nicole Young, was retained by West earlier this year, following his bitter divorce from the reality star.

Kanye West hired Spector to join his legal team after publicly complaining that Kim Kardashian was preventing him from seeing their children. Kardashian went to social media in February to express her displeasure with West's actions in the aftermath of their divorce, when he publicly complained that their eldest kid, North, had a TikTok account.

West has had four attorneys in the case, including Spector. Prior to Spector, West removed attorney Chris Melcher of his responsibilities in the case, according to TMZ in March. Insiders informed the magazine at the time that West had been ambivalent in his interactions with Melcher, at times trying to settle and at others preparing to fight her in court.

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Negotiate Formal Settlement in Divorce

At the time Kanye West shifted representation from Melcher to Spector, Kim Kardashian's lawyer Laura Wasser alleged that West had been 'strategically' swapping attorneys to hold down the legal procedure in the breakup, Daily Mail reported.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are not yet divorced; he is currently negotiating a formal settlement of the former couple's $2.1 billion in assets and attempting to establish permanent custody arrangements. Kim Kardashian has also moved on with Pete Davidson, 28, much to Kanye's disgust, as he branded him "Skete" and was banned from Instagram after threatening the comic and insulting others - he's been silent on the platform since.

West accused Kim of taking their daughter Chicago, claiming she believes he has a hit out on her, threatening to assault him, and accusing the Saturday Night Live comic of attempting to destroy his family.

Pete Davidson also got tattoos of Kanye's children on his neck, which some fans found disturbing, and supposedly texted Kanye months ago that he was in bed with your wife, as per The Sun.
