On Monday, Kevin Mccarthy contrasted the sights from the southern border to what is happening in Ukraine, which has been under Russian bombardment for more than a month.
Because of shootouts over the border, several border districts have been forced to close schools - in one case for 40 days.
McCarthy said that the president may assist alleviate the situation by simply urging migrants not to come to the United States, adding that Joe Biden has informed all those wishing to enter the nation illegally or legally that they are welcome since the 2020 campaign.
McCarthy: Biden Abdicated His Responsibilities at the Southern Border
On Monday, he was joined by Republican border state members and those in charge of national security committees to discuss the approaching elimination of Title 42. In the middle of the COVID-19 outbreak, former President Donald Trump signed the policy in March 2020, allowing for the rapid expulsion of refugees without hearing their asylum applications.
Since assuming office, Biden has continued to defend Title 42 in court although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Friday that the program will be phased out.
He also stated that the GOP is leading an attempt to bring legislation to the House floor via a discharge petition that would delay the expiration of Title 42 until COVID-19 pandemic limitations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico are lifted, as per Daily Mail.
After the government stated that the Title 42 public health order would be lifted, McCarthy accused President Joe Biden of abdicating his responsibility at the southern border and exacerbating the migrant problem.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said on Friday that the Title 42 public health policy, which has been utilized by both the Trump and Biden administrations to promptly deport migrants at the southern border since the pandemic of COVID-19 began on May 23 will be phased out.
The order was issued by the Trump administration in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it has subsequently been utilized by both the Trump and Biden administrations to deport a large number of people at the border.
While it is not an immigration policy, it has become one of the most important border strategies in existence as the United States faces record amounts of illegal border crossings. Due to the decision, around 55% of migrants were returned to their home countries rather than being allowed into the United States in February, according to Fox News.
Almost 18,000 Migrants Will Cross Border Daily
Border patrol officials informed members of the House Republican conference on Friday about the catastrophic situation at the border and in the interior, which they warned will only become worse once Title 42 ends on May 23.
According to Rep. John Katko of New York, around 8,000 individuals attempt to enter the southern border illegally every day, far exceeding the operating capacity of 5,000. Cartels generate roughly $1 billion every month by charging $4,000 per person for passage, which they spend on the production of fentanyl, which they then sell in the United States. That number will rise to 18,000 when Title 42 is repealed, and difficulties resulting from unfettered immigration will rise at the same rate.
Members also discussed low morale among border officers, as well as fentanyl smuggling and sex trafficking, which occur owing to a lack of border policing.
According to the lawsuit, Arizona, Missouri, and Louisiana have sued the administration to prevent it from repealing Title 42, which they claim will repeal the single safety valve stopping this Administration's terrible border policies from devolving into utter chaos and tragedy, Washington Examiner reported.
