AMC's "The Walking Dead" returned last night (Feb. 9) with an all-new episode after a short hiatus. Episode 9, titled "After," focused on Rick and Carl following the attack at the prison and Michonne. In next week's (Feb. 16) episode, viewers will see what happened to the rest of the prison group.

It was previously reported that the group has broken up into smaller teams. Those smaller teams have been rumored as Tyreese, Mika Samuels, Lizzie and maybe baby Judith; Darryl and Beth' Maggie, Bob Stookey and Sasha; and Glenn and the other people from the bus.

Comic book creator Robert Kirkman also revealed that three news characters would be added - Dr. Eugene Porter, Sgt. Abraham Ford and Rosita Espinosa. Kirkman revealed that all three characters will closely resemble their comic book characters and will bring a different dynamic to the show.

"These characters are going to be extremely similar to who they were in the comics and I'm really excited about that," he told Entertainment Weekly. "People excited for the introduction of these characters won't have to wait very long."

"They really are going to add a very interesting and very compelling dynamic to the show," he added. "I think they're going to bring in elements to the show that we've never really explored before and I think that's exciting and something that's going to change the game to a certain extent."

According to Columbia Tribune, Tricia Brock directed Episode 10 and revealed that it will focus on four separate storylines as it begins to show viewers what the smaller groups are dealing with.

"There was violence, difficulty in dealing with one another, terror. It's a very intimate episode," she said. "We see how these very odd groups were thrown together and how they deal with that."
