Latest reports revealed that Conor McGregor will be contractually prohibited from elbowing or jut kicking Floyd Mayweather in their upcoming boxing match on August 26, 2017. The two face each other in the ring at the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena after months of deciding for the match.

According to USA Today everything about the boxing match will be boxing-centric. This means that all the things which will be used for the match between the UFC star and boxing's former pound-for-pound king will be based on the rules of boxing.

From the guidelines regarding the use of gloves and their sizes, the number of rounds and to the undercard of the event, all will be based on boxing. Because of this, some wondered if Conor McGregor will be able to keep up with the fight as he is more attuned to MMA.

Moreover, some people have speculated that Conor McGregor might get disappointed with how Floyd Mayweather will be fighting him using his boxing skills. With this, the fighter from Ireland might get distracted and that he will not be able to resist himself aiming kicks and throwing elbows as he is accustomed to in MMA.

However, it was just assured by UFC President DANA White that those things will not happen as the rules will be based on the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The UFC President also shared that knowing Floyd Mayweather if a lawsuit will pursue later, that will take a lot of money. Conor, on the other hand, likes more money and he will surely want to take with him a lot of money if that will take place.

Besides, it was also claimed that it was Floyd Mayweather camp which decided the use of purely boxing regulations and guidelines. Rather of using a combined arrangement, the said team decided to stick to boxing rules since this might even allow McGregor to make use some of his MMA tactics.

Apart from this, it was also assured that there will be no UFC element to the said boxing match and show. Lastly, it was claimed that this is a match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor and not between MMA and boxing.
