John Mayer expresses his fillings about his ex-girlfriend with his heart-breaking lyrics in his new song. He states that Katy Perry has been his inspiration even after more than two years passed since their break up.

According to USA Today, the singer and songwriter John Mayer in his new song ‘Still Feel Like Your Man’ said that it is not just some regular heart-breaking song and that Katy Perry was the inspiration for writing it. This song is filled with some dejected love lyrics like “I still keep your shampoo in my shower. In case you wanna wash your hair. And I know that you probably found yourself someone somewhere. But I do not really care”. He stated that it is a testament to the fact that he was not dating many people in the last five, six years and who else will he be thinking of if not Katy Perry.

As reported by The Wrap, singer John Mayer and the pop superstar Katy Perry were in a relationship for more than two years and were one of the most famous couples in the world. In the beginning of 2014, the famous couple broke up and went their separate ways. After the break up Katy Perry has, had her high profile relationship with the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star Orlando Bloom. John Mayer admitted in an interview with ‘The New York Times’ that he hasn’t date much after the brake-up with Katy Perry and that the song ‘Still Feel Like Your Man’ is about her.

John Mayer has romanced some other high-profile women in the past like the singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, singer-actress Jessica Simpson and actress Jennifer Aniston according to Access Hollywood. From that time the singer and songwriter went on to endorse a desire to discard his headline-making behavior. He reported for The Times that he is turning 40 in October and he seems to be ready to settle down and start a family. John Mayer stated that the new album ‘The Search for Everything’ maybe started as a brake-up record but later in the process was much more to uncover. With that being said the fans can expect more songs dedicated for Katy Perry in the future since John writes his songs as a way to express his fillings about his ex (but not forgotten), girlfriend.
