Starz's drama television series, Outlander, has been the talk of fans since its last episode for the second season aired. It will be a few months since the series returns but fans are already beyond excited for what the new season will offer.

On June this year, the network announced its renewal for the third and fourth seasons of the series. After it has finished airing all its episodes on July, fans and viewers have been anticipating for the third season. And thankfully, it has been reported that official updates are announced by the show's producer.

According to International Business Times, one of Outlander executive producers, Maril Davis, turned emotional after watching the premiere episode rough cut for the third season of the series. As per the source, although the producer is busy for the premiere next year, she took time to converse with fans online.

That was the time when she revealed to the fans that she did tear up watching the premiere episode. Aside from that, Davis also revealed about the much-anticipated reunion of the show's main characters, James 'Jamie' Fraser, portrayed by actor Aidan Turner, and Claire Randall/Fraser, played by Caitriona Balfe.

She did not spill in details the two character's reunion but she said that it will be 'great.' She also revealed that the most exciting scenario for the upcoming season will mostly be the events on the ship.

TV guide also reported some of the happenings that viewers might expect on the premiere of season 3. One of the highlights is reportedly the battle of Jamie Fraser and Jonathan 'Black Jack' Randall. On the previous season, the fans did not get to see this scene as it skipped to the part where Jamie saved his life.

It also reported that an additional set of cast will be expected, including Scottish actor John Bell, who will portray Jamie's nephew named Ian, and English actor Wil Johnson, who will join the cast as Claire's medical colleague, Joe Abernathy.

The exact premiere date for Outlander Season 3 has not yet been disclosed, but it was announced that it will be on 2017.
