According to a story published by Vogue, the British royal family celebrates Christmas over a period of two days. William and Middleton have spent the holiday with the Duchess' family for the last few years.

The royal family typically spends their Christmas at Sandringham House, rather than the Buckingham Palace. King Philip and the Queen make the trip to the house through train.

Sandringham House is a huge residence by itself, which is spread across 20,000 acres of land. The royal family leaves a few days before Christmas and stay at Sandringham House until the start of February.

The extended royal family reaches the Sandringham House and join them for Christmas eve. The entire family exchanges gifts of the Christmas eve and there is a planned afternoon tea for them. It is reported that Prince Harry and Prince Williams play a game of soccer on the same day, before the entire clan sits down for dinner at night.

The next day, that is, on the Christmas day, the entire family attends two Church services, The younger ones are not allowed to attend the service, while the other members walk to the church together. The two services include private family service at Church of St. Mary Magdalene and public service that begins around 11 a.m.

The Church service is followed by lunch in the Red Drawing Room at Sandringham. The traditional turkey meal is served to everyone, followed by the Queen's Christmas address to the nation at 3 p.m. The family reunites for puzzles and activities in the ground, before they settle for a movie in the ballroom.

According to a report published by BBC, Prince Harry's girlfriend Meghan Markle was spotted purchasing a Christmas tree with him. Speculations are high that Markle may become a part of the royal Christmas celebrations this year, even though it might be too early for her to join the royal clan.
