Since Activision announced the coming of "Destiny 2" in 2016, the game enthusiasts have been waiting for concrete details about the sequel. However, the video game company remains mum about it but revealed a new downloadable content (DLC) for "Destiny" at the recent PlayStation Experience 2016.

According to N3rdabl3, Activision announced the coming of a new "Destiny" update called "The Dawning." It is set to bring the Sparrow Racing League with four different tracks - two from it are new while the other two are only returning.

The Sparrow Racing League coming in "Destiny" update also comes with a record book and a lot of rewards. This will include a new gear and Sparrows that players have to unlock.

With the new DLC, Guardians can now come together at the tower to welcome the New Year in "Destiny." Players, too, can enjoy a lot of gifts and rewards by finishing some games and the quests.

The new "Destiny" DLC will also let the "Destiny: Rise of Iron" players to join a healthy competition. There is also a new Strike Scoring System coming in the game that will able to replay Strikes for a number of times.

Meanwhile, VG247 reported that "Destiny" 2 is still part of Activision's to-do list as revealed by the company's publishing boss Eric Hirshberg. "We're on track and excited about what we think is going to be an awesome sequel for 'Destiny' in 2017," he said.

"The sequel is designed to excite both our highly engaged current players, but also to broaden the appeal even further, bringing in new fans and bringing back old fans as well," Hirshberg added. However, the executive didn't reveal any details about the exact release date of "Destiny 2."

But it is believed to be unveiled in September 2017. If rumors are true, "Destiny 2" will be out on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
