The Dallas Mavericks continues to struggle in the ongoing regular season. Holding a 5-18 record, they are currently dead last in the Western Conference division and many believed that they won't be able to make it in the playoffs if they do nothing. But NBA trade rumors are spreading that a brewing talk between them and the Portland Trail Blazers are happening right now with Andrew Bogut as the centerpiece of the trade.

Bogut's name was dragged in the NBA rumor mills a couple of weeks ago. He was linked to being traded to the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Toronto Raptors but up until now none of those teams have ever make a move of acquiring him. Reports are now floating that the Mavericks might consider a trade proposal coming the Trail Blazers.

According to Yibada English, the Dallas Mavericks are seriously considering on trading Andrew Bogut and the Portland Trail Blazers might be the next destination for him before the trade deadline. Though the Mavericks are not hard to press to make the deal right away, there is still a big possibility that deal will take place if their misery will go on.

NBA trade scenario is suggesting that the Mavericks will send Bogut to the Trail Blazers in exchange for Ed Davis, Noah Vonleh, and Shabazz Napier, as per stated in the report. Having Bogut will definitely improve the interior defense of the Trail Blazers, who are currently second to the last in the whole league in terms of defensive efficiency (109.5).

On a separate report by Christian Post, trading Bogut is logical for the Mavericks since he will become a free agent after this season. And since there are teams interested in acquiring him, it is a viable option for the Mavericks of moving Bogut and get some capable players rather than lose him for nothing.

Aside from improving their defense, Bogut can also help the Trail Blazers in rebounding which is also one of the weak spots for them. Bogut, who is assigned by setting up open shots for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson during his Warriors days, can also bring that experience alongside Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum as per stated in the report. With this scenario, this could be a feasible deal for the Trail Blazers if they'll pursuit it.

Will the Portland Trail Blazers push the deal and acquire Andre Bogut from the Dallas Mavericks before the NBA trade deadline in February?
