Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is one of the best upcoming tablets of 2017. The release of the 2-in-1 device will be the successor to the Surface Pro 4, which is long overdue.

It has previously been expected that the upcoming device from Microsoft will also be released with up to 256 GB of storage, in line with the Surface Pro 4. Now it seems that Microsoft is looking to take the Surface Pro 5 on a completely new level, along with the other rumored improvements for the device.

Rumors suggest that the Surface Pro 5 will pack up to 512 GB of  storage, which is double the capacity of the Surface Pro 4 that have only up to 256 GB of storage.

Surface Pro 5 is also said to feature better overall performance, including the better battery life compared with the Surface Pro 4. Its predecessor came with several battery drain issues, so this improvement would be a welcome one for fans of the device. The new chipset will help in resolving the battery performance that is associated with Surface Pro 4.

The 2-in-1 hybrid device is expected to have 3:2 aspect ratio of screen display, which has the capability to support full AMOLED 4K video output. It will have a more refined Surface Pen for a more immersive and interactive usage experience is added along with a new keyboard peripheral.

Microsoft will be adding a USB Type-C port to the Surface Pro 5 that will be including Thunderbolt 3. It is also said to be coming with wireless charging capabilities from its magnetic dock.

Microsoft is also said to be releasing the Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system in 2017, Redstone 3 in fall 2017.  The Redstone 3 is expected to deliver better unified experience. It will also include support for HoloLens VR device, Phone Arena reported. So it is possible that the Surface Pro 5 would be running it right out of the box.

As for the release date of the Surface Pro 5, a specific date has not yet been revealed. It is rumored that the tablet will launch in spring 2017, possibly even as early as January. Device will be rumored to have a price tag of $899.
