Upcoming superhero film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, is set to release on cinemas a few months from now and fans of the Marvel Comics film all around the world are more than thrilled to know what the sequel of the 2015 hit can offer them.

Just recently, it had been announced that the most-anticipated trailer for the upcoming movie is going to be seen by the fans tonight.

According to a report from Monkeys Fighting Robots, the trailer will debut on ESPN, on 8 pm US Time, during the ACC Football Championship game. It also reported that the viewers can expect for the sequel movie to be more adventurous as the the guardians are set to travel throughout the cosmos while they help Peter Quill/ Star-Lord, portrayed by Chris Pratt, to find his true family.

It can be recalled on the first film that Peter Quill was abducted on Earth as a child, and have been raised by alien thieves and smugglers called the Ravagers. Fans of the movie can possibly know the character's true heritage as it may be revealed on the sequel film.

Comic Book reported that some of the footage from the sneak peek that Marvel Studios had released on Friday will be seen on the upcoming trailer. A scene from the footage included Drax the Destroyer, portrayed by Dave Bautista, preparing daggers to be aimed at the mouth of a giant space monster that is thought to be a huge squid-like creature.

According to the film director, James Gunn, the creature is called an abilisk and was revealed to be the villain that is going to be hunted down by the guardians in the upcoming film. It was also reported that the abilisk is an original creation from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Main casts from the previous movie namely Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper and Michael Rooker, are going to reprise their role on the sequel as Peter Quill/ Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot, Rocket and Yondu Udonta, respectively.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is due for release on May 5, 2017.
