Horror drama zombie-apocalypse television series "The Walking Dead" is one of the most-watched American series in the country. But rumors surfaced that a main cast would exit the show in the near future.

In the previous report, it has been revealed that actor Chandler Riggs is possibly leaving the show for his college education. The young actor posted on his official social media account that he has been accepted to Auburn University. This prompted his fans to speculate for his departure.

Aside from this, according to Comic Book, Riggs' father also posted a message on Facebook, where he thanked the network AMC (US network, Fox for international release), the cast and crew of the series, the fan base and Chandler for being a dedicated actor. He also added how much he's proud of his son for the things he has achieved.

These recent reports made fans and viewers of the zombie-apocalypse series that Riggs is really going to exit from "The Walking Dead." With this development, fans have also wondered if the show is going to write off Riggs' character, Carl Grimes, in the following seasons.

Last October, the eight season of the show was announced, which is discussed to be released in the late months of 2017. Aside from this, executive producer, David Alpert, has also mentioned before that the team is willing to extend the show for a few more seasons. But will fans be okay with the series without Carl Grimes?

According to Huffington Post, Carl has a large role on the show. He has been through season one until the current season and it would be strange to kill him off soon. But with a lot of main characters dead, it is also possible for Carl Grimes to bid goodbye.

The report also said that it would still be possible for Riggs to reprise his role because Auburn University is just a driving distance from the series' shooting location.

However, nothing really is confirmed as of now. Fans are waiting for an official announcement to be released by the network, and still hoping that Riggs will decide to stay on the series.
