The Minnesota Timberwolves are a struggling franchise in the NBA. They haven't reached the playoffs for the past 12 seasons. And during those playoff droughts, they have a combined 329-639 win-loss record. Here's the latest on the NBA trade rumors.

This season, the Minnesota Timberwolves looks like they will not make the playoffs once again. With a 5-13 win-loss record, they are fifth in the Northwest Division and 28th in the entire league. They lost three straight games with the latest defeat in a close game against the New York Knicks.

The Wolves are led by 2 players who are Rookie of the Year awardees in the past two seasons, Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.  In 18 games with the Wolves this season, Wiggins is averaging 22.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 steals.

Towns on the other hand, is averaging 22.4 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 35.1 minutes. In his last game against the New York Knicks, he scored a season-high 47 points on 15-22 shooting from the field and 17-20 from the free-throw line, as per ESPN.

However, Wiggins is involved in another trade rumor talk. According to Inquisitr, the Miami Heat looks at Wiggins as one of potential target. And in exchange, Heat could send veteran point guard Goran Dragic and James Johnson or Dion Waifers as further discussed by Inquisitr.

Just like the Timberwolves, the Miami Heat is also a struggling team. Their top 2 players from last season were gone. Dwyane Wade signed with the Chicago Bulls in the offseason and Chris Bosh is out with health issues. At 6-12 win-loss record, they are at the 13th spot in the East.

With Pat Riley as Heat President, the Miami Heat wants to be competitive. But they can't be competitive with this lineup. Hassan Whiteside is having a phenomenal season averaging 17.7 points, 15.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks. But Heat needs another All-Star caliber player to play alongside Whiteside so that the team can get back to being a playoff contender.

If this rumored NBA trade deal will happen, the Heat will have a very athletic guy in Wiggins capable of scoring from the inside. He also improved his three-point shooting from 30% a year ago to 41.4% this season. With Wiggins on their roster, the Heat will definitely be a very good offensive team.

With Whiteside and Wiggins as their top gun player, the Heat might get back to being the playoff contender that they used to be. Aside from that, both Whiteside and Wiggins are both young and rising stars in the NBA. If the Heat could work out a deal to get Wiggins, the Heat will have a great future ahead with Whiteside-Wiggins tandem.
